Anthony Randolph May Not Be A Starter When The Season Starts

Yesterday, the Daily News reported that Mike D’Antoni has been so impressed with Russian Timofey Mozgov that he is being considered for starting center. While that pronouncement is rather surprising to me, what is perhaps more newsworthy to most hopeful fans this season is that Anthony Randolph is not mentioned as a starter.  According to Frank Isola, “coach Mike D’Antoni is already considering starting Mozgov alongside Amar’e Stoudemire, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton.”  Across the blogosphere, New York fans are very interested in seeing the uber-athletic Anthony Randolph developed into a star.  Training camp has barely started and as we know, the Knicks can rarely figure out the rotations by only playing each other in scrimmages.  So jumping to rotation conclusions is more premature than eating frozen hamburger meat.  However, no one wants to have last season’s memories of an excess of early rotation changes rebooted.   Do we? Is Randolph destined to remain a sixth man this season with Gallinari, Chandler and Azubuike on the roster?
