Denver Looks to Trade J.R. Smith!

Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith (R) shoots over Utah Jazz forward Kyle Korver in the second quarter in Game 6 of their NBA Western Conference playoff series in Denver April 28, 2010.  The  Garden be rocking like 1994, even better!

Denver is looking to trade JR Smith. This is a move that New York must look at because we could get a pure shooter

on the cheap. A source close to the situation said the Nuggets are looking to trade the erratic Smith, who is entering the final year of a contract that will pay the shooting guard $6.03 million. One thing would be a certainty. If we are successful with a trade for JR, we would cement our SG postion for years to come. I hate to say this but JR Smith would play his best ever under Mike D’Antoni’s system. The guy can light it up similar to the 76ers Andrew Toney. I’m not sure the relationship JR had with Melo, however, considering they were teammates, could only benefit Melo’s New York experience ONCE that happens before trade deadline. Walsh & Dantoni are on the hot seat. They need to bring in JR Smith and give up everything we have with the exception of Amare & Anthony Randolph to make this deal. If you’ve watched JR Smith Play, you know he would become a crowd favorite at the Garden.

The Nuggets will meet with Melo today, Lets hope we can somehow bring both JR & Melo the Mecca. Yes, both are not known for their defense. However, thats where we find the role players to support Amare, Melo & Smith.

For one brief moment imagine our starting lineup of PG Felton, SG JR Smith, SF Melo, PF, Amare and Randolph as Center! We’d be right in the thick of first place with Miami. This would be one dangerous team. Get ready New York, this may be worth the last 9 years of hell we have been through as fans of the orange & blue. I feel a big positive change coming, and I think if we get this done, we owe it all to Miami. They started this trend. Did they think other teams were going to just watch them without putting up a fight? If Walsh/Isiah is able to put the above group together at the Garden, tickets for Knicks games would be impossible to get. JR Smith would have a lot to gain by playing in NewYork. His salary would not matter because in our market, his endorsement power on Madison ave would net him to the 10TH power whatever salary the knicks give him. Please relay comments on your feelings of bringing in JR Smith as our starting SG?
