SORRY FOR THE TEMPORARY INCONVENIENCE FANATICS AND FRIENDS, WITH THE HELP OF LIVEFYRE AND BLOGUIN WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON IMPROVING THIS SITE AND THIS STAGE OF RECONSTRUCTION SHOULD BE OVER WITHIN A WEEK.
As many of you have noticed, our comment section has been acting and looking a little bizarre. Comments are not showing up; old comments have vanished; avatars have been stripped of their garments; and threads have become impossible to follow. Well, this seemingly catastrophic situation is actually the barren land before you enter comment heaven. Livefyre is now working on improving the comment section and we are migrating to their latest release. We were previously using Livefyre’s beta version which, although not perfect, was better than the previous comment section by Joomla. The LiveFyre beta allowed real time conversations similar to CoverItLive, which we use for live blogging. Now we are converting to the improved public version, which is still one step away from the premier pay version to be installed even later.
LiveFyre’s present upgrade is a very big leap in terms of front end design as well as under the hood infrastructure. That said, the migration process from the older system to the new one has had a couple of missteps.
- Right the front page counter is not working in certain browser versions. Livefyre fixing this but they also have another fix scheduled this week that will have the comment counter occur almost instantly rather than the delay you used to experience. Either fix should remedy this. If you want to check in on progress (by contacting LiveFyre), feel free but they’re aware of this and working on the resolution.
- Older versions of IE (internet explorer) are having issues with the comments loads. This is their most important issue it is supposed be resolved shortly.
- Some comments were lost during the migration and they’re working on that. Comments should start to reappear soon.
- Knicks Fanatics Blog, and many Bloguin blogs. are early adopters of LiveFyre. In fact they made a Beta and then had to make it Joomla compatible. We’re now on a more formal release and we’ll soon be moved to a premium version where you will be reunited with your old comments and the Bloguin logins will be synced with the LF system. We’re close here and when we get there, the comment section will be booming.
If you have experienced problems here, please LiveFyre the specifics. You can contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org directly. I understand that our comments are very important to their engineering team. You can also e=mail me at email@example.com if you have any questions, although I will get my answers from Livefyre.
Thanks for your patience and support.
